(Germany) On Monday, November 24, 2025, starting at 1:30 p.m., the German Bundestag's Committee on Economic Affairs will hold a public hearing on accelerating the availability of hydrogen. As previously reported , the Federal Cabinet recently adopted the draft Hydrogen Acceleration Act (HydrogenBG; BT-Drucksache 21/2506 ) . Detailed information about the hearing is available on the committee's website . The hearing is open to the public and will be streamed live online at www.bundestag.de and on mobile devices. It will be available the following day at www.bundestag.de/mediathek.

(USA) Hyroad Energy is expanding its "Truck-as-a-Service" offerings for hydrogen trucks in the US, adding fleet management, maintenance, repair, and spare parts delivery to its portfolio. In August, Hyroad acquired 113 fuel cell trucks from the bankrupt Nikola Corporation, along with spare parts, software, and other assets, via auction ( as previously reported ). Hyroad's core business model encompasses vehicles, refueling infrastructure, hydrogen supply, and financing. With this expansion, Hyroad now offers comprehensive support for Nikola vehicles. "For hydrogen trucks, the entire ecosystem needs to work, not just the vehicle," said Dmitry Serov, CEO and founder of Hyroad Energy. "By expanding our services, we are ensuring that hydrogen trucks can operate at peak performance while simultaneously laying the foundation for sustainable market growth." Hyroad is also expanding its network of refueling stations in Texas and California.

(Austria) The petrochemical company OMV AG and the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) plan to finance and build a 140-megawatt electrolysis plant in Bruck an der Leitha as part of a joint venture. Masdar will hold a 49 percent stake in the JV. OMV intends to use the projected 23.000 tons of green hydrogen produced annually at its Schwechat refinery, which will be connected to the electrolysis site via a 22-kilometer pipeline. Groundbreaking for the plant took place in September 2025, as previously reported, and commissioning is scheduled for 2027. OMV already operates a 10-megawatt electrolysis plant for green hydrogen in Schwechat. OMV will supply electricity from renewable energy sources for the new plant. The partnership lays the foundation for collaboration between OMV and Masdar to further develop the production of green hydrogen, synthetic aviation fuel (e-SAF), and synthetic chemicals in the United Arab Emirates and in Central and Northern Europe. A letter of intent was signed in this regard in April of this year. Masdar aims to become the world's leading producer of green hydrogen and its derivatives by 2030.

(Germany) The German state of Saxony-Anhalt is funding the "H2Regio" research project with just over two million euros. Sixty percent of this funding comes from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), and 40 percent from the state itself. The Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation and Automation IFF will use this funding to create a database by the end of March 2028 that links the production, transport, and use of green hydrogen. Up to now, energy producers, grid operators, and industry have often operated independently. In the long term, the developed system, as a digital twin of the regional hydrogen system, is intended to be used more broadly for green gases and serve as a blueprint for other regions in Germany. In parallel, a hydrogen trading platform is being developed that replicates real-world market mechanisms.

(Denmark) Project developer GreenGo Energy A/S has signed an agreement with Hamburg-based oil and gas trader SET Select Energy GmbH to develop a green ammonia production plant in Mauritania. The project, dubbed "Megaton Moon," is slated to start with an initial 500-megawatt electrolyzer capacity and produce 355.000 tons of green ammonia annually. The First Investment Decision (FID) is planned for 2028, with completion of the front-end engineering design by 2027 and commissioning in 2031. In Phase 2, the companies intend to increase capacity to 1,7 million tons with an electrolyzer capacity of 2,5 gigawatts. Further expansion to a total capacity of up to 4,0 million tons per year is planned, provided "the authorities make sufficient land available and the market supports it," the companies stated. The site is reportedly located about 20 kilometers south of the capital, Nouakchott, through whose port the ammonia will be exported. The electrolyzers will operate off-grid using electricity from solar and wind power plants, as well as a seawater desalination plant and nitrogen extracted from the air. At the beginning of this year, the GreenGo Energy Group signed an initial agreement with the Mauritanian authorities regarding this project. Select Energy is acting as the offtake partner and co-developer.
