(Germany) Keyou GmbH, a developer of hydrogen combustion engines, and the French hydrogen producer Lhyfe plan to collaborate on the development of hydrogen mobility in Germany and Europe. With Lhyfe's planned green hydrogen production capacity in the Schwäbisch Gmünd region, around 100 trucks could be put into operation between 2026 and 2030, which Keyou would then deliver to customers in the region. The company is developing the technology for converting diesel engines to hydrogen and is also working on a "Hydrogen Mobility as a Service" approach for fleet operators (engine conversion, service and maintenance package, insurance, fuel). The Lhyfe plant in Schwäbisch Gmünd, near Stuttgart in Baden-Württemberg, has an installed capacity of ten megawatts, is scheduled for completion by the end of the year, and will then produce four tons of green hydrogen daily. Lhyfe has secured a 15-year supply of green electricity from EDP Renewables. Furthermore, starting in 2025, Lhyfe plans to supply four hydrogen filling stations operated by H2 Mobility Deutschland GmbH over a five-year period, two of which are located in Baden-Württemberg (Mannheim and Heidelberg). At the end of 2023, Lhyfe also announced that its green hydrogen would supply the "H2-Aspen" industrial park and a JET H2 hydrogen filling station (now MINT). According to Keyou, the production capacities planned by Lhyfe in the Schwäbisch Gmünd area will enable the company to manufacture 20 trucks annually. Further regions in Germany are to follow. The hydrogen requirement for 100 vehicles is estimated at approximately 1.000 tons per year.

(South Korea) Vinssen Co., Ltd. has begun construction of the hull of a 17,4-meter-long recreational boat. It will accommodate ten passengers. The propulsion system, powered by fuel cells developed by Vinssen, will achieve a top speed of 20 knots. Type approval has already been granted, making the boat "the first recreational boat of its kind in the country." Vinssen has received special permission from the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to conduct the R&D project "Demonstration of Charging and Operation of a Hydrogen-Powered Fuel Cell Boat." Jeonnam Technopark (JNTP) is providing technical and regulatory support, the Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute (KOMERI) is evaluating the hull's stability and the fuel cell system's performance, and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) is contributing expertise in welding and quality management. As part of this initiative, Vinssen, with the support of Jeollanam-do Province and the city of Yeongam, plans to establish a test environment. Furthermore, the company will establish and operate a dock and a mobile hydrogen refueling station. Vinssen specializes in maritime technology with a focus on fuel cells and integrated propulsion systems.
