The French railway company Alstom and the US industrial gases manufacturer Air Products & Chemicals want to introduce hydrogen trains in the Czech Republic. This also included filling stations and the necessary hydrogen infrastructure. The two companies have now signed a corresponding declaration of intent. Details about the financing, scope or start of the project were not given.

The energy supplier Taqa Arabia and French power producer Voltalia have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Egyptian government to develop a green hydrogen production plant. The production capacity is initially estimated at 15.000 tons per year. Location is near the port of Ain Sokhna in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. The 100 megawatt electrolyser will be supplied with electricity from renewable energies with an installed capacity of 283 megawatts. According to the information, the project can be expanded to include an electrolyzer capacity of one gigawatt and solar and wind power systems of 2,7 gigawatts. The production capacity would then be up to 150.000 tons of green hydrogen per year. The Egyptian government is providing the required space.

The Saudi power plant developer Acwa Power wants to invest seven billion dollars (6,73 billion euros) in Thailand to build production facilities for green hydrogen and its derivatives. According to the news agency Zawya 225.000 tons of hydrogen and 1,2 million tons of green ammonia are to be produced per year for regional energy consumption and for global export. A corresponding memorandum of understanding was signed between Acwa Power, Thailand's energy company PTT Public Co. and the state electricity supplier Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). The companies have now started a feasibility study for the project.

In the Italian city of Bologna, 127 hydrogen-powered buses will start operating over the next four years, replacing diesel vehicles. The first 34 vehicles are expected to be on the road by the end of 2024. According to the operator of the public transport network, the investment amount is more than 90 million euros TPER Spa. A corresponding agreement for the purchase and construction of the infrastructure was signed between the city administration, TPER and the urban transport authority SRM (Reti e Mobilità Srl).

A consortium of industry and research wants to develop aircraft engines that can use various sustainably produced fuels, including pure hydrogen. The project called “Medium-range hybrid low-pollution flexi-fuel/hydrogen sustainable engine” (MYTHOS) will be funded by the European Union for four years from January 1, 2023. Francesca di Mare, holder of the professorship for thermal turbomachinery and aircraft engines, is responsible for coordination Ruhr-University Bochum. The Italian Aerospace Research Center (CIRA), the Politecnico di Torino, Dream Innovation srl (Italy) and the University of Lund (Sweden) are involved.
