The Nikola Corp. announces plans for a fourth location of its hydrogen filling station under the new brand “Hyla” in California. According to the information, they want to build this in West Sacramento because there is a high density of goods distribution centers there. As reported, by 2026 in the USA as a whole 60 Hyla hydrogen filling stations be constructed. So far, the cities of Colton and Ontario have been named for California, and there is also another location that serves the port of Long Beach. The aim is to build a refueling network to make it easier for the hydrogen truck manufacturer's own customers to access the fuel, but also to serve other vehicles. California is a “launch market” for the company for its Nikola Tre heavy-duty trucks. Starting in 2023, there will be purchase incentives in the state through the “California Air Resources Board Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project,” including for hydrogen-powered Nikola Tre vehicles in the amount of $240.000 to $288.000. The Inflation Reduction Act signed by US President Biden also allows federal tax credits of $40.000 for clean commercial vehicles.

The planned introduction of a hydrogen class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans has been postponed to 2026. This is reported by the specialist portal “Motorsport”. The organizer of Le Mans, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO), set up a working group in 2017 to introduce this zero-emission class to the endurance race. The start was originally planned for 2024. According to the information, GreenGT worked with ACO to develop a hydrogen-powered racing car that achieved comparable times to conventional racing cars in the Michelin Le Mans Cup. The hydrogen tanks would be supplied by Plastic Omnium. The reason for the postponement is, on the one hand, delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but also the desire to ensure that hydrogen cars are truly competitive before they are used in the 24-hour race.

The Danish project developer and operator of solar and wind farms European Energy A/S is to ensure the methanol supply for the Korean logistics group Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) for its newly ordered fleet of environmentally friendly ships. The agreement stipulates that European Energy, as a supplier of e-methanol, will support HMM in establishing a green methanol supply chain, the company said. HMM has ordered nine container ships that can run on two types of fuel. They will be used on the Asia-North/Latin America and Asia-India trade routes and are expected to be delivered between 2025 and 2026. European Energy is currently building the world's largest e-methanol plant in the municipality of Aabenraa in the southern part of Denmark. The first e-methanol is expected to be produced at the end of 2023. When fully operational, the plant will be able to produce 32.000 tons of e-methanol annually.
