(Sydney/Australia) – The Australian Pure Hydrogen Corporation Pty Ltd, the hydrogen division of Real Energy Corporation Ltd, wants to build a large-scale hydrogen production facility in Port Anthony in the Australian state of Victoria together with Liberty Hydrogen. The joint venture called Pure Hydrogen International Inc., which was announced in mid-January, has already drawn up a key points paper with the project developer Port Anthony Renewables Ltd. signed.
20 tons of hydrogen per day
The initial production capacity of the facility, called Liberty Hydrogen South, is 20 tons per day. Pure Hydrogen and Liberty Hydrogen want to develop a total of four hydrogen hubs on the east coast of Australia.
Port Anthony is located 196 kilometers east of Melbourne in South Gippsland. The port has been used continuously since 1966, primarily to supply the Bass Strait offshore oil and gas field. The terminal specializes in the handling of bulk goods and is connected to the country's important transport networks.
“Together with Port Anthony Renewables, we want to build and operate a hydrogen plant that utilizes the best technology available today,” said Scott Brown, Managing Director of Real Energy. “Good progress” is also being made in securing the locations for the other three planned hubs as well as potential new locations.
