(Gothenburg, Sweden) – Powercell Sweden AB and Robert Bosch GmbH plan to jointly accelerate the deployment of fuel cell systems in mobility applications. They are also exploring further market entry opportunities for stationary applications. Their focus includes "high-growth markets such as China" and the global power generation sector. Bosch has already acquired extended usage rights to adapt Powercell's "S3" stack for its own automotive stack development in China.

The company will also gain access to selected customers in the backup power, construction, and industrial mobility sectors. The agreement is valued at approximately six million euros. Powercell and Bosch have been working together for several years. A collaboration on the industrialization, production, and sale of the S2019 stacks began in 3. Two years ago, the companies signed an agreement for Bosch to manufacture them. This agreement, it was stated at the time, will significantly increase Powercell's production capacity and allow it to focus more on scaling the assembly and delivery of fuel cell systems and developing the next generation of fuel cell stacks. Manufacturing will take place in Germany, and Bosch will supply 100-kilowatt fuel cell stacks to the Powercell plant in Gothenburg for marine, aviation, power generation, and off-road customers.
