HyCC announced the development of a year ago "H2Next" The aforementioned project. The company reserved a plot of land near the planned landfall of electricity from several offshore wind farms for an electrolyzer with a capacity of 250 megawatts on the Maasvlakte in the port of Rotterdam. H2Next is designed to produce approximately 25.000 tons of green hydrogen per year. The planned national hydrogen network, with connections to Germany and the Rhine-Delta corridor, is intended to supply not only Dutch industrial clusters but also other centers in Northwest Europe with green hydrogen. According to the information provided at the time, the investment decision was expected by 2028, with hydrogen production starting in 2030. However, no progress on the project has been communicated since then.

HyCC is a joint venture between Macquarie's Green Investment Group and the Dutch chemical company Nobian, which emerged from Akzo Nobel's chemical division in 2021. Power2X focuses on clean hydrogen, renewable methanol, and sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF).
