(Houston/Zurich) – The US mineral oil company Phillips 66 Company wants to build up to 2026 hydrogen filling stations in Germany, Austria and Denmark together with H2 Energy Europe by 250. The execution is the responsibility of a joint venture between the subsidiaries Phillips 66 Limited (Great Britain) and H2 Energy Europe AG (Switzerland). 
The companies want to develop a filling station network and logistics to supply the stations with green hydrogen as soon as it is available. Green hydrogen filling stations
Phillips 66 operates more than 1.000 “Jet” filling stations in Europe as well as a growing hydrogen filling station network in Switzerland through its participation in the Coop Mineraloel AG joint venture. Jet filling stations would be expanded and new locations would be developed on important transport axes, according to a statement. Under the agreement, H2 Energy is responsible for integrating hydrogen production, supply and refueling. However, “state support is needed to set up the gas station network,” the companies explained. 
In addition, they also want to stimulate demand for vehicles. Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility, sales partner in Europe for Hyundai's fuel cell trucks and heavy commercial vehicles, in which H2 Energy has a stake, should make a contribution to this. In July 2020, Hyundai delivered the first ten hydrogen-powered trucks of the ““XCIENT Fuel Cell” to Switzerland. Who are the joint venture partners?
Phillips 66 has a global portfolio of energy production and logistics companies. These include chemical plants and refineries, as well as marketing specialists, among other things. H2 Energy was founded in Zurich, Switzerland in 2014. The company wants to make hydrogen from renewable energies a cornerstone of the energy system. H2 Energy is involved in the entire hydrogen value chain, including the construction of hydrogen production facilities, the development of hydrogen filling stations and the development of hydrogen fuel cell applications.
In 2020, Netherlands-based raw materials trader Trafigura and H2 Energy announced a commercial collaboration to develop the production, storage and distribution of green hydrogen for gas stations and industrial customers.
