A consortium of Jos Scholman BV, KWR Water BV, Allied Waters BV and Hysolar BV has launched a project in the Netherlands to locally produce and market green hydrogen in the Plettenburg (Nieuwegein) industrial area. The companies want to invest in public hydrogen filling stations and vehicles. The plan is to produce around 250 tons of hydrogen per year using renewable energy. This will be sourced from a solar park built in the immediate vicinity of the electrolyzer, and wind turbines are also planned.
According to information, a filling station for buses and trucks on the Jos Scholman BV premises will start operations “possibly this year”. KWR Wasser already operates a hydrogen filling station for cars. The project should also show how the heat released during the production of hydrogen can be used to meet the energy needs of local buildings.
