From September 2020, there will be a new master's degree program in “Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology” in Baden-Württemberg that “comprehensively prepares you for the development of alternative energy concepts in mobility,” according to the initiators. Hydrogen and fuel cell technology are among the key technologies of alternative drive technologies, “which complement electromobility without pollutants and sustainably”. The SüdWest University Federation (HfSW) with the universities of Aalen, Esslingen, Heilbronn, Mannheim, Ravensburg-Weingarten, Reutlingen and the Stuttgart Media University are involved.
The scientific director of the new study program is Walter Czarnetzki, professor at Esslingen University. The face-to-face course of study is aimed at those interested in completing a technical first degree who would like to acquire an academic master's degree while working. Interactive online lectures and self-study materials complement the program.
According to the information, all modules of the course can also be booked separately as certificate courses. A combination of several thematically related “Certifcates of Advanced Studies” for hydrogen and fuel cells is also possible.
