(Bratislava, Slovakia / Vancouver, Canada) – The Slovakian company Mobility & Innovation Production sro and the Canadian developer of fuel cell systems for the electrification of commercial vehicles, Loop Energy, have presented a hydrogen-electric minibus. According to the information, the vehicle has completed more than 1.200 kilometers of testing, is eight meters long and offers space for 21 passengers.

Mobility & Innovation designed the bus as a “zero-emission solution for urban transport”. Power is provided by a 30-kilowatt Loop Energy S300 series hydrogen fuel cell system that powers the electric motor. With a charge of 15,4 kilograms of hydrogen, the range is 400 kilometers, according to the company. Due to the high fuel efficiency, the tanks could be sized to fit in the engine compartment of the bus. Mobility & Innovation initially wants to introduce the vehicle in Slovakia, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary and the Czech Republic. “From the beginning, the H2Bus was developed with ambitious fuel consumption targets in mind,” says János Onódi, co-owner and CEO of Mobility & Innovation. “We want to show bus fleet operators across Europe that hydrogen mobility is a possible option for the transition to electrification.”
