(Anaheim / USA) – Quantron AG presented a new fuel cell truck (FCEV) for the US market at the “Advanced Clean Transportation” trade fair in Anaheim, California. The range on one tank of fuel is said to be 850 miles (1.370 kilometers).
At the unspecified start of series production, the “Class 8” truck (from 15 tons) will be equipped with a 100-kilogram tank. The forecast refueling time is 15 to XNUMX minutes, the company said. This corresponds to the refueling time of a comparable diesel truck and is “significantly faster than comparable electric trucks”.
Access to the First Element petrol station network
Quantron and First Element Fuel also announced their collaboration. According to the information, Quantron customers would have access to a network of 40 hydrogen filling stations in California. Quantron offers fleet owners access to all services required to convert their fleet to hydrogen via “per mile billing” as part of a service system.
“First Element’s hydrogen refueling network will allow drivers to quickly refuel and get back on the road, just as they do with diesel today; only now they run on zero-emission fuel,” says Rick Haas, President and CEO of Quantron US.
More than 2023 refueling operations were carried out and 60.000 kilograms of hydrogen were sold via the existing network in March 162.000 alone. New stations as part of a project called “High Flow” make it possible to refuel heavy-duty, medium-sized and small vehicles. In an initial phase, First Element Fuel is planning XNUMX facilities in California, starting with a gas station near the Port of Oakland that is scheduled to open later this year.
