(Reußenköge) – The North Frisian GP Joule GmbH wants to develop hydrogen solutions together with the automotive group Toyota and the Portuguese vehicle manufacturer CaetanoBus, part of Toyota Caetano Portugal and Mitsui & Co., “in order to use alternative drive technology in modes of transport and vehicle fleets”. By integrating various applications and projects “in a regional hydrogen ecosystem,” a cycle is created that makes access to hydrogen easier for other mobility applications.
Stimulate demand
“The collaboration between the three companies is intended to boost both hydrogen supply and vehicle demand,” explained GP Joule. In addition to infrastructure and filling stations, integrated vehicle offerings such as leasing and service are important for taxi and fleet operators as well as local authorities.
In addition to cars, the focus is initially on buses and light commercial vehicles. In the future, an expansion to heavy trucks is also conceivable. The three companies covered the entire value chain of hydrogen mobility - from the production of green hydrogen through its distribution and refueling infrastructure to its use in various vehicle segments. No concrete projects were mentioned, nor was a timetable.
5.000 trucks from Clean Logistics
GP Joule recently announced that it would be building 5.000 trucks from Hamburg over the next few years Clean Logistics SE want to refer. The company provides the 40-ton trucks, including the necessary infrastructure, to customers from logistics and retail, and also ensures the production and procurement of green hydrogen from renewable energies.
