(Iserlohn) – The Faun Kirchhof Group is taking over parts of the Clean Logistics subsidiaries XPANSE Powertrain GmbH, Clean Logistics Technology GmbH and E-Cap Mobility GmbH through its subsidiary Engenius Tec GmbH. According to the information, the companies' locations in Winsen (Luhe) as prototype construction, Potsdam and Braunschweig (both development) were retained, as were 51 of the last 65 jobs in the engineering and technology sector. The parent company Clean Logistics SE filed for insolvency at the Lüneburg District Court on February 22, 2023, and the proceedings were opened on May 1, 2023.

Parent company is being liquidated

“As part of the investor search, there was great interest in the operational business of Clean Logistics SE, but not in the guise of the shell company,” says insolvency administrator Peter-Alexander Borchardt from the Reimer law firm. Therefore, the operations of the parent company are now being wound down.

Lower Saxony-based Engenius Tec GmbH is a subsidiary of Engenius GmbH, which produces vehicles with alternative drives, such as trucks with a hydrogen fuel cell system (FCEV). The Faun Kirchhoff Group in Osterholz-Scharmbeck manufactures waste collection vehicles and sweepers.

Crisis despite major order

Clean Logistics SE had four subsidiaries. In order to avert a liquidity crisis, the company had previously unsuccessfully sought the entry of a strategic investor in combination with the issue of new shares, according to a statement.

Clean Logistics had already made a name for itself in the industry. The hydrogen-powered truck “Fyuriant” was presented at the airfield in Stade in June 2022. In August last year, the North German GP Joule GmbH signed a framework agreement with the company for the delivery of 5.000 trucks by 2027. According to the information, the total volume of the order was in the low single-digit billion euro range.

“With the acquisition of the Clean Logistics companies, we have secured know-how and can significantly and quickly expand our portfolio of climate-friendly commercial vehicles,” says Engenius Managing Director Thorsten Baumeister.
