(Berlin) - The Berlin-based Enapter AG, together with its Korean partner company Yest Co.Ltd. deliver two AEM electrolysers with a total capacity of two megawatts. The systems will be used in a 12,5 megawatt hydrogen pilot project on the South Korean island of Jeju. According to Enapter, this could produce around 450 kilograms of green hydrogen per day.

The project is being supported by the country's Ministry of Industry and Trade with 62 billion South Korean won (45 million euros). The aim is to examine and compare hydrogen production with different electrolysis technologies. According to the manufacturer, Enapter AG is the only technology supplier from Europe among the five companies selected for this purpose. According to Enapter boss Sebastian-Justus Schmidt, Korea is “one of the world’s leading countries in the field of green hydrogen”.

Second order for AEM multicore this year

Enapter had already announced in mid-January that it had received an order to deliver an AEM multicore through its sales partner Adsensys. This should be handed over to an unnamed Dutch energy company in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The customer is a fuel supplier and operates several public gas stations. According to Enapter, the aim is to “build a network of hydrogen filling stations, including the production of our own green hydrogen”. According to the information, Adsensys had previously implemented a hydrogen cogeneration system in the Netherlands using Enapter technology for a residential complex in Rozenburg.
