(Berlin) - The German Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (DWV) is restructuring itself. In accordance with the resolution of an extraordinary general meeting, the DWV is now led by a volunteer executive committee and a board of directors made up of two full-time members. “The need for the change arose from the greatly increased importance of the field of hydrogen and fuel cells,” emphasizes the association.
In the future, DVGW will provide one of the two board members
According to the information, the adjustment of its club structures enables “professional processing and positioning of the topic of hydrogen in Germany and Europe”. This is also accompanied by a “deepening of cooperation” with the German Gas and Water Association (DVGW). The DVGW provides one of the vice-presidents of the executive board and one of the two board members.
“The structure that the DWV had had since 1996 was no longer able to cope with the current positive developments surrounding the hydrogen economy,” emphasizes Werner Diwald, CEO of the DWV. Hydrogen and fuel cells have now become so important that this topic can no longer be worked on on a voluntary basis. The basis has now been created “for the DWV to develop into the central association for all energy, transport and industrial policy aspects relating to hydrogen in a defossilized economy”.
DVGW CEO Gerald Linke affirms that by intensifying the work, the associations will be able to “pursue the common strategy in the areas of hydrogen storage, shared use of gas infrastructure for hydrogen transport and low-emission applications even more effectively.”
