(Berlin) - Regions that want to use hydrogen as an energy source in a regional hydrogen economy can apply for state funding from the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) as “HyExpert” until June 18th. We are looking for regions in which there are already project approaches that will be further fleshed out and integrated into a common regional hydrogen concept as part of the “HyLand – Hydrogen Regions in Germany” competition. According to the federally owned NOW GmbH, “all aspects of the regional value chain – production, transport, infrastructure and applications, especially in the transport sector, should be considered”.
The applicants will be awarded prize money of 400.000 euros each for the selected regions to further develop the concepts through to implementation. Only local authorities are eligible as recipients. Expenses for consulting, planning and services to create the regional concept are eligible for funding. The services must be advertised and awarded by the regions themselves, for which a public procurement process must be carried out.
