(Hamburg, Germany) - The nationwide "Hydrogen Week" initiative is once again offering numerous events this year. Companies, universities, and researchers will open their workshops and laboratories from June 21 to 29; numerous initiatives, associations, cities, and municipalities will offer free lectures and films, organize street festivals, and expert discussions. The initiators have compiled around 100 offerings, including theory and practice, for a broad audience (as of editorial deadline)—and more may be added.

100 events in 14 federal states

This year, more than 60 locations in 14 federal states are participating. For example, the Bad Lauchstädt Energy Park (Saxony-Anhalt) is hosting a public information day to explain the current status of the project and provide insights into the future of hydrogen energy supply (June 21). Esslingen University of Applied Sciences will offer insights into research and teaching at its Esslingen and Göppingen campuses as part of an afternoon symposium entitled "Center of Excellence for a Hydrogen Region." Companies will present flagship projects focusing on hydrogen infrastructures for transport and energy supply, and high-ranking experts will discuss future prospects for a hydrogen region in Esslingen (June 25).

Essen-based Schrand Energy GmbH will showcase its new "H2 Energy Plant," a containerized hydrogen storage solution (June 25). In Eichenzell, Hesse, the Energy Forum will present its new hydrogen filling station for trucks and an electrolyzer for green hydrogen (June 27). In St. Ingbert, Saarland, the MINT Campus Alte Schmelz will host a family day and an open lab day (June 28). Bremen will provide information about fuel cell vehicles (June 29)—to name just a few examples.

This year's more than 20 well-known supporters include Toyota, Cellcentric, the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, the German Hydrogen Association, the truck manufacturer Faun, the long-distance pipeline operator Ontras and the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economic Affairs.
