Berlin. September 15, 2020 – NOW GmbH and GP Joule GmbH are offering a 21-minute online seminar on September 90st under the title “Hydrogen from a regional perspective”. Approaches for hydrogen technology are presented there. According to the organizers, the development of a hydrogen economy at regional and municipal level is “a central lever for transferring the technology into everyday life.”

GP Joule GmbH recently launched a project called “eFarm” in northern Germany to use locally produced green electricity from older solar and wind turbines to produce green hydrogen (we reported). The federal government's “HyLand” funding is intended to support regions in initiating, planning and implementing coordinated hydrogen-related concepts with regard to regional production, logistics and use of hydrogen. The “North German Reallabor” is a cross-border energy transition project that is intended to help decarbonize various sectors through the use of hydrogen in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The federally owned NOW GmbH (National Organization for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology) coordinates and controls the Federal Government's National Innovation Program for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP) and the funding guidelines for electromobility and charging infrastructure (LIS) of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI). Representatives from several federal ministries sit on the supervisory board, and representatives from politics, science, industry and infrastructure sit on the advisory board.
